In 2005, a special painting was commissioned from San Antonio artist Luis Lopez, to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of the war with Japan. “Keep them Flying over CBI” is a one-of-a-kind painting depicting members of the 14th Air Force, 69th Depot Repair Squadron, their journey over the Burma Road, and the infamous P-40 “Flying Tiger”, one of the many aircraft they kept flying over the “Hump” (Himalayan Mountains) and in the air above China.
While the original painting is part of a private collection, you can still own one of only 250 giclee fine art prints of this historic painting. Print #1 currently hangs in the Jade Studio of Mr. Kong Lei, Kunming, China, where the 69th DRS was stationed.
The giclee print consists of a 7.75″ x 10.25″ image; matted size is 12″ x 14.5″.
Each print is hand numbered and signed by the artist and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
