It is with a very heavy heart that I share with our Tiger Family that there has been a tremendous loss.

Verlin Abbott - 1954-2017On August 5th, Verlin Abbott was taken from us far too soon. He passed out of this life doing what he so loved, serving others while riding his motorcycle. In 2005, Verlin came into our “Tiger Family”. He volunteered to create our first website and continued as our Web master and fellow executive board member.

His efforts opened the door for the world to connect with us. Our website has allowed many other squadrons and groups to join us to carry the Tiger legacy forward. From his countless hours of service, amazing talent, love of our country and deep respect for the Flying Tigers, he created connections to people that have developed our 69th organization beyond our dreams.

Verlin not only served as our Creative Director on the Cub board, he also was our go-to person for military protocol as a retired Army Lt. Col. The 69th Tigers gave their blessings that we adopt Verlin as a “Cub”. We are the children and descendants of Flying Tigers.

We share miss his wisdom, guidance, laughter, service and our Cub Brother.
